What this site is
Skarb is a non-commercial cultural portal of the Romny city territorial hromada: landmarks, traditions, makers, events and a map of cultural venues. Using it is free and requires no account.
Materials on the site
Texts, photographs, 3D models of landmarks and video stories belong to their authors and to the hromada. You are welcome to share links to any page. To reprint material or use photographs and 3D models in other projects, write to skarb.romny@gmail.com — we almost always agree, but we need to know about it and to credit the authors.
Most photographs on the portal were taken for the hromada. Those taken from free sources are named here, as their licences require:
- "Staichyn Verkh" burial mounds — the aerial photograph was supplied by the hromada. The image itself carries the emblem of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, which is where it comes from. We are confirming the exact office and will name it here.
- "Swedish Graves" burial mound cemetery — photograph from the holdings of the Posullia State Historical and Cultural Reserve; the description of the site was written by the archaeologist Yevhen Osadchyi.
- Photographs of the architectural, archaeological and historical sites added in August 2026 were supplied by the hromada together with a dossier on each one. Those dossiers draw on the Register of Monuments of History and Culture of Ukraine (Sumy region).
- Coat of arms of the Romny city territorial hromada — Wikimedia Commons. An official symbol of the territorial community; not subject to copyright.
Material you send us
By submitting a tradition, a story or a video through a form on this site you are offering the material for publication on the portal — with your name and settlement shown. Please send only what you have the right to share. We may edit the text for readability or decide not to publish it at all; if you change your mind, write to us and we will take it down.
The form shows a link to these terms and to the privacy policy next to its fields, but it does not ask for a separate "I agree" tick. So we do not treat sending alone as consent to publish: if it is not clear from the material that you agree to it being made public, we write to you and ask first. Without an answer the material stays unpublished.
Accuracy
We try to keep opening hours, contacts and event announcements current, but they change. It is worth calling ahead before you travel — the number is in the map card. Note, though, that the cards for almost every rural venue carry the same shared number, and it is the phone of the hromada's culture department, not of the club or the library itself. No separate numbers for them exist in the registers.
For some rural venues the map pin marks the settlement rather than a specific building: no street address is on record, and inventing one would be a guess. Those pins carry a note saying so.
A street and house number appear only where the hromada itself supplied that address. Every other card gives the settlement only — even where the address is easy to find elsewhere. This is the hromada's decision: in wartime a precise address can serve as targeting data. If you find an address here that you did not provide, write to us and we will remove it.
Links to other sites
The portal links to external resources — makers' social media pages, videos, map services. We are not responsible for their content or their rules.
